Dr. Kritinai Ritthichai, Ph.D. alumnus in Social Development Administration from the School of Social Development and Management Strategy, NIDA, presented on “Cooperation between China’s Belt and Road Initiative and Thailand’s BCG Economic Model: Building a Green Economy for a Shared Future.” His presentation highlighted Thailand–China collaboration in advancing new energy and the green economy on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, linking the “Green Belt and Road Initiative” with Thailand’s BCG model to promote investment in electric vehicles and solar energy, while also encouraging transparent and sustainable cooperation.

The Office of National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) led a delegation of experts and researchers to participate in the academic presentation under the event “50 Golden Years of Thailand–China Friendship: Forging a New Era of Shared Destiny,” held during the 14th Thailand–China Strategic Research Symposium on November 11–12, 2025, at Chen Yankui Building, Huaqiao University, Xiamen, Fujian Province, People’s Republic of China. The event was organized under academic cooperation between NRCT and Huaqiao University.

The symposium served as an important platform for academic exchange between Thai and Chinese researchers, aiming to strengthen research and innovation collaboration between the two countries in a tangible way, in celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations and shared commitment to sustainable development.

The symposium was structured into four main themes:

Trade, industrial and supply chain cooperation, and connectivity
Tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges
Artificial intelligence, new energy, and the green economy
China–Thailand relations and building a community with a shared future

The event provided a key forum for exchanging academic perspectives and policy recommendations on trade, industry, and supply chains between Thailand and China. It emphasized deeper cooperation, economic connectivity, and quality development to address challenges in a rapidly changing global economy. The discussions also reflected the potential of both countries as strategic partners in industry and innovation to enhance economic security and promote sustainable development.

Furthermore, participation in this symposium underscored the role of NRCT as a key mechanism in connecting Thai–Chinese research and innovation cooperation, driving sustainable development, strengthening the knowledge-based economy, and supporting international collaboration strategies on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Thailand–China diplomatic relations.
